Who Are We?
The HistoryIT Management Team is based in our Portland, ME headquarters and our project teams, which consist of historians, archivists, digital imaging technicians, quality control reviewers, and metadata specialists, work independently or in our Digital Innovation Labs.
Kristen Gwinn-Becker, PhD
Founder and CEO
Kristen is a professional historian and web developer. She holds a PhD in U.S. History from George Washington University and is a published author, accomplished scholar, experienced public speaker, and expert consultant to museums and public officials.
Jennifer holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and has previously served as a Portfolio Manager at the Maine Technology Institute, as COO of Angela Adams Holdings, and in a variety of finance, strategic planning and market research positions at Johnson and Johnson.
Director of Software Development
Serge spent four years as lead tech for Zynga Poker, the world’s largest online poker game. He has worked as a software engineer and web developer for numerous clients, and has co-founded a number of projects, including the San Francisco Festival of Fantastic Film and the Cosmic Hex Film Archive.
Director, Corporate Development and Strategy
Jim has built companies and brands while holding “C” level positions at businesses including LEGO, General Mills, Saucony and Hasbro. He is co-founder and facilitator of the Maine CEO Board Forum and is past Board President of the Osher Rare Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Research.
